USAPL Monster's Bash 2024: Powerlifting Returns to Minnesota at American Strength
American Strength Training Center proudly sponsored the 2024 USAPL Monster’s Bash hosted by MG Powerlifting this past weekend, a two-day powerlifting event that brought together incredible lifters, dedicated volunteers, and enthusiastic spectators. It was thrilling to see our gym buzzing with energy and packed with talent as we welcomed the powerlifting community back to Minnesota for another USAPL meet.
A huge shoutout goes to our volunteers—many of whom are members of American Strength—who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend. Their support helped make this event seamless and enjoyable for everyone, and we couldn't have done it without them.
We also want to highlight the impressive performances of the athletes trained by our own Ken Graack. These lifters showed the results of their dedication and hard work, and their performances made us incredibly proud. Here’s a recap of their achievements on Day One:
Naree Vue: Naree had a flawless 9-for-9 performance, placing 5th in her weight class. She set a personal record with a deadlift of 303 lbs and achieved a PR total of 633 lbs!
Bridger Zakovich: Bridger went 8 for 9, setting new personal records in deadlift and with a total of 1,218 lbs. A phenomenal day for him!
Michael Calin: Michael also went 8 for 9, finishing the day with a solid total of 550 kg.
Ernest Draper: Ernest put up an impressive 446-lb squat, set a PR on bench with 352 lbs, and pulled a state-record deadlift of 589 lbs for a PR total of 1,388 lbs.
Callistus Schissel: Competing in the super heavyweight division, Callistus achieved a 545-lb squat, 535-lb bench, and a 617-lb deadlift, totaling an incredible 1,697 lbs.
These lifters showcased the power of commitment, discipline, and expert coaching under Ken Graack. Their accomplishments are a testament to the level of training and mentorship they receive at American Strength, and we couldn’t be prouder of their progress and success.
